weekly Artist 7/27 -- Cheryl Pope
here is her website, although it doesn't seen to be up and running right now.
These saw Horses were at Robin Richman in Chicago and I got to spend a lot of time with them, petting then, hanging off them, carrying them around the store. They are so clever, and so so soft.

Clu
I went to American Rag the other day to scope out their Complex Geometries collection. (they didn't have much)
But! I did find another line that caught my eye: Clu
I searched and searched the internet trying to find pieces that were as cute as the ones I saw in the store, these are as close as I could find, but I suggest you make a stop by American Rag. (and leave your wallet at home)

bigfoot
I want to take a moment to explain a story I was imagining up earlier today.
It has to do with this drawing:
After a long night of partying with the squirrels and other forest creatures, bigfoot passes out in a bush somewhere. Im the morning he wakes up, groggy and very hungover, he feels a little queazy, and then throws up.
--the is where rainbows come from --

works in progress
feel like seeing some works in progress? I know you don't, no one is ever as excited about them as the artist is, because really, everything in progress just looks bad.
Except for the works in progress I am about to show you! they are really really exciting!!
The first image you are looking at is of a flower smoking a joint. The leaf is the only part that is near finished.
This is a ceramics piece I am making in class right now:
look familiar?

Tuesday Interview
On Tuesday I have a Job interview for a job that I am under-qualified and over-excited for. (a bad, usually heart breaking combination) It is at Phillipa Roberts, a Jewelry designer in Oakland. The interview is said to involve some sort of soldering test. Should I mention I have never soldered jewelry before? If it is just like soldering electronics and circuit boards than I am set, if not then I am screwed. Anyone know about soldering jewelry?

Weekly Artist 7/13 -- Misaki Kawai
All week I have been at a loss for things to post about and I have just been counting down the days until it is reasonable enough to make the weekly artist post. and now its sunday, witch is close enough, so here it is! this week: Misaki Kawai!
I am only really interested in her sculptures and insalations, she makes paintings too, they are pretty sweet, but not as much as these:
I fucking LOVE it.
visit her website here
and watch her on Art Talk here! (watch it, she is adorable)

My dad finally got me to watch Twilight last night. I hate to say it, but I can't wait for the next one.

Oh, What A Sad Day
In a fit of rage against Bank of America I closed all my accounts, then got home and realized I no longer have a way to pay for my netflix.
uhhhhggggg, so sad.
